Coca-Cola Sales Analysis Dashboard using Power BI

Business Task

Coca-Cola is one of the largest and most successful beverage companies in the world. It sells a wide range of products, including carbonated soft drinks, juices, water, and energy drinks. The company has a global presence, with operations in over 200 countries.

Coca-Cola is constantly looking for ways to improve its business performance. One way to do this is to better understand its sales data. This can be done by creating a sales analysis dashboard using Power BI.

A sales analysis dashboard can help Coca-Cola to:

  • Track sales performance over time
  • Identify trends and patterns in sales data
  • Compare sales performance across different regions, products, and channels
  • Identify areas where sales can be improved

Requirements

The following are some of the key requirements for a Coca-Cola sales analysis dashboard:

  • The dashboard should be easy to use and navigate
  • The dashboard should be visually appealing and engaging
  • The dashboard should be interactive and allow users to drill down into the data
  • The dashboard should be up-to-date and accurate

Process

For this analysis i used Coca-Cola dataset of US showing different states and cities in it. You can access the data from below:-

This dataset is pre-cleaned so no need of data cleaning. So upload to power BI where we can analyse and visualize it for the dashboard. Any transformation can be done if required through Power Query.

Image 1 shows columns of the dataset i uploaded. Firstly, I made required KPIs as shown below in image 2

Now total sales by Month and operating profit w.r.t it-image 7

Finally i added slicers so that users and explore the data themselves.- Image 8

INSIGHTS:

  1. Total sales is about $8.7M among which west region contributes the most i.e. $2.8M and operating profit of $159k
    2. Total Quantity sold is about 17.1M, among which “Coca-Cola”, “Diet Coke” and “Desani Water” are the top ones in all regions.
    3. There are 4 retailers and from them “Sodapop” is the top one in total sales as it covers most number of regions.
    4. Among Top 10 states by total sales, 4 states (California, Hawaii, Washington & Oregon) belongs to west region and also California is the top one among all regions.
    5. New York and San Francisco are the two top cities by total sales.
    6. Dec, July and Aug remains the top three months by total sales among all regions and brands.
